Discover the ancient method of creating fire by rubbing sticks together. Learn the types of wood the Cherokee and other local tribes used, proper technique, and the history of this challenging but rewarding fire starting method. Try it yourself!
You will learn the technique and what types of wood work the best. Open to ages 13 to adult. Program lasts for about 45 minutes. Meet in Cabin 2 in Fort Watauga, the second cabin on the left as you enter the fort from the sidewalk.
